About Me

Hello! I'm Audrey and I'm an English teacher in Iowa. Growing up, reading was a huge part of who I was. When I was 16, I suffered a severe concussion and that, coupled with the stresses of school, my reading stamina took a nosedive. Reading became a chore and was mentally and sometimes physically painful. In 2021, I made a goal for myself to read 12 books: one book a month. For the first few months, I steadily worked through one book each month but then, thanks to TikTok, I found a book series that drew me in and hasn't let go. That series was A Court of Thorns and Roses. Those books are fast paced and made me fall back in love with reading. I was able to blow through all three in under two months. From there, I just kept reading. Over the summer, I read 12 books of varying genres.

Once school started up in August, the time and energy I had to read dwindled again, but I was still maintaining about 2 books per month. My friend and I started a small book club of just the two of us where we would read part of a book then get together and talk about it. This helped keep me accountable for getting things read in a decent amount of time. We started with A Court of Silver Flames by Sarah J Maas and continued to go through the Twilight saga.

This blog, which I'm starting in January of 2022, is where I will post the books I read and my reviews and thoughts on them. My goal for 2022 is 24 books and logging them digitally also helps with my accountability to keeping this goal.
